MOST FREQUENT QUESTIONS
The following are questions that I get asked the most by friends and fans of art.

HOW DID YOU DO THAT?
Having the ability to create something that do not exist is most challenging and rewarding. It takes pure love and imagination to become a good concept artist. You must have good drawing skills, painting skills and a basic understanding of biology and mechanics. Most importantly, have fun doing it!

WHAT COMPUTER SOFTWARE DO YOU PREFER?
I use Adobe Photoshop to render my digital paintings, it is versatile and precise. The beauty of this software is that it is easy to learn and has no limitations. For the most part, it is used side by side with other software which makes photoshop essential to know. Maya, Flash and GoLive are my favorites, as well.

HOW DID YOU LEARN TO DRAW?
I started drawing at an early age. However, I learned the fundamentals of drawing such as light, value, contrast, texture, detail and prospective in college. Stephen Marsh, my art instructor, pointed out to me what I was doing wrong. One of my college lessons consisted of studying art drawings and paintings to learn how it was done.

WHERE DO YOUR DESIGN IDEAS COME FROM?
Most of my ideas come to me after careful research of the subject. It also helps to know what paintings were done on the subject so that a unique approach to the design can be done. After several quick sketches to determine the basic shape and design esthetics, a detailed drawing is done to refine the idea and solve any design problems.

HOW CAN I BECOME A PROFESSIONAL ILLUSTRATOR?
To become a professional illustrator it has to be a lifestyle. First, you have to love to draw and paint anything. Buy the necessary books and art supplies. Secondly, you must be patient until your art skills has developed to a professional level. Develop a portfolio and send art samples to companies. Thirdly, never give up on what you want.
